About Us
Established in 1854 Osmonds is a UK family-owned company based in the gorgeous countryside near Whitchurch, on the Shropshire Cheshire border. Originally based in Lincolnshire, the Wilson family became part of the company’s rich heritage, purchasing the company in the 1970s.
As clear industry innovators, Osmonds was the first company to introduce dried colostrum products into the UK and are still manufacturing colostrum products for many animals including calves, lambs, puppies and racing pigeons.
We understand farmers’ requirements, developing and launching products such as Bactakil 55, Lamb & Calf Colostrum, Vitamin & Mineral Drenches, hoof-care products, and a variety of showing, conditioning and healthcare supplements that serve agriculture to this day.
Over the years there have been many exciting changes, including the purchase of Petcetera etc followed by the 2001 relocation to our current home at Bradeley Green Farm, where Osmonds and Petcetera etc operate today.
Throughout the constant innovation and development and as working farmers ourselves, with a flock of pedigree Shropshire Sheep, Osmonds truly understand the need to provide the best quality product to our customers. It is because of this that we continue to be of service to the incredible farming community today.
Not only do Osmonds have a dedicated team supplying a wide range of animal health and showing products to the industry, but we also run a working farm.
Bradeley Green Farm is a mixed arable and sheep farm, growing maize, barley and wheat, alongside grass leys, and wooded ponds. We have a flock of MV Accredited pedigree Shropshire sheep; this breed was chosen due to its suitability for grazing in wooded areas – without eating the trees themselves! Shropshire sheep are very popular with orchard and Christmas tree plantation owners for this very reason.
The Shropshire’s are good mothers, easy lambing, good milkers and are quiet. We currently run on average 40-50 breeding ewes and sell the progeny for breeding stock.
We don’t just manufacture and sell Osmonds products – we are so passionate about what we produce because we use them on our own animals, with very successful results!
